April Goals

Looking to play 3k games and profit 12k for April. I'm setting my goals a little lower than last month, though I'm pretty confident that I can exceed both categories. I'm going to focus a bit more on coaching this month, play Sunday MTTs and I expect to go golfing a few times this month, so that means less time to play sngs obv.

Going to buy some more clothes to cheer myself up from last month. I started running again b/c my friend is coming back from Med School in late April and a bunch of us are going to run 10k. I really doubt that I'll be able to keep up a good pace, but still going to try to train for it. I can barely run a bit more than a mile and I'm totally gassed. Going to try to make it a daily happening for the next few months.

Vers baby,
You've got to get a program. Google "Runner's World" and check out their smart coach feature. You basically input a recent time (e.g. mile in 7 mins) and it gives you a training regimine for however long your race is (10k for you). A workout plan'll motivate you and maximize progress imo.
Holler,

seems like it gives me a very long training program, but I am running the 10k in 3 weeks and don't have the luxury of a long schedule. My friend set up a schedule already, can't remember what it is.

Yeah, usually you can choose as little as like 8 weeks but obv 3 weeks is gonna be tough. Have you been running much?

Your body'll hate you for going from 0 to 10 miles in 3 weeks.

I can see it now:

"Omfg dude, I'm so tired and we've only done 2 miles. Whatever, I'll just shove bvb."

Running partner: Umm...vers...that doesn't work here...

"FUCK"

LoL, I'm decent at poker math I guess, but anything more advanced then simple odds/statistics, I'm pretty useless at. I was never all that good in math in high school anyways and was happy I didn't have to do anything more math related than first yr econ.

Obv I should've started training sooner, but it's cold in Canada and running when it is freezing is just so awful so I only started 4 days ago. One of my friends goes to med school in the Caribbean and they obv have nice weather there. He's been training for months and is going to wipe the floor with us. Still going to give it my all though and try not to dog it too much.

When I wake up now my legs are kinda sore and when I first start running, my shoulder hurts, but it goes away. I guess that's from the runner's high, idk.

RE: your comment, 30 hrs / week is decent but I'd like to really push it in the future. I read somewhere that as Patrik Antonius was coming up, he played 12 hrs / day, 7 days / week for 2 years. I might not get to his level of skill, but I think it'd be beneficial to aspire to his level of commitment and discipline.

I have to track stuff w/ tourney manager and request tourney summaries, but I always do that anyways.
